PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Multiple pets have died after a garage fire spread to a Putnam County home Monday morning, officials said.
The Putnam County Fire Department said crews were sent to a garage fire along High Flats Road in the eastern part of the county just before 6 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23.
As crews were on the way to the scene, they reportedly learned that the fire had spread to the residence. Upon arrival, a two-bay garage was fully engulfed in flames and the roof had collapsed, officials said.
Although firefighters were able to stop the blaze from fully involving the residence, the home still sustained damage to the siding.
Fire officials said the cause of the flames is believed to be accidental in nature and no injuries were reported.
Authorities added crews were on the scene for about an hour and a half, and that the owners “did lose some pets in the fire.”
No additional details were immediately released.
