NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — More than 11 months after a truck driver was fatally shot in East Nashville, authorities announced two people are behind bars in Florida in relation to the murder.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said David White, 37, of North Carolina, was found dead inside the cab of his rig on Jan. 8. His truck was parked on Lucas Lane next to the Love’s Travel Stop in East Nashville.
He was last seen buying food at the travel center at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 7, according to officials. A travel center employee reportedly found White unresponsive after his company, KA Logistics, could not reach him and asked that someone do a welfare check.
Officials with KA Logistics sent a statement to News 2 following White’s death, saying, in part:
David was not just a member of the KA Logistics Inc. team; he was a dedicated professional, a reliable colleague, and a friend to many within our organization.
His unwavering commitment to his responsibilities and his positive demeanor left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
As we reflect on the loss of our dear colleague, let us remember David for the positive energy he brought to our workplace and the warmth he shared with everyone around him.
A couple weeks later, MNPD turned to the public for help tracking down a vehicle in connection with the shooting. Detectives believed the suspect(s) arrived and fled the scene in a four-door Dodge Ram 1500 Classic Quad Cab pickup truck with tinted windows, black rims, chrome door handles and a chrome RAM emblem on the back.
Authorities didn’t release any new information about the case until Thursday, Dec. 19, when they posted on X that Charvelle Clark, 46, of California, and Nikki Landry, 36, of Louisiana were in jail in Holmes County, Florida, for White’s murder. A Florida traffic stop reportedly led to the arrests.
No additional details have been shared about this case or the arrests in Florida.
