WARREN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Law enforcement reportedly detained a man after another man was injured in a New Year’s Eve shooting in Warren County, but no charges have been filed in the case.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting along Grove Road just before midnight.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they said they found a 50-year-old man lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen.
While emergency aid was being rendered to the victim, officials said a deputy “immediately detained the shooter,” a 37-year-old man, without incident.
The sheriff’s office reported EMS transported the victim to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park, adding that he was later transferred for further treatment.
According to authorities, no charges have been filed against “the individual involved in the shooting” as of Thursday, Jan. 2. Once the investigation is complete, officials will turn it over to the district attorney general for him to review it and make the ultimate charging decision.
Law enforcement may release additional details about this ongoing investigation at a later date.
